Last year, Tendon became a proud partner of a Czech mountaineering expedition to the unexplored heights of Pakistan. The result? A historic first ascent of the eight-thousand-foot Muchu Chhish - a feared peak that has so far defied all attempts.
With the trio of climbers Radoslav Groh, Zdeněk Háček and Jaroslav Bánský, our ultralight rope Master 7.0 made its way up, which reliably accompanied the expedition in the most difficult conditions. You can read about how the rope performed in a detailed article by Radoslav Groh here.
This exceptional achievement will also have its film premiere - in April, the documentary Rhapsodia Corcontica will be released, which captures not only the ascent of Mucu Kiš, but also other achievements of Czech expeditions in recent years.
Rhapsodia Corcontica
Two generations - two expeditions, one desire to reach the unknown.
The will of Krkonoše mountaineers and explorers is endless...
The new feature film by Tomáš Galásek, a leading figure in Czech outdoor cinema, follows the Krkonoše mountaineering and scientific expeditions of 1979 and 2024. The film offers an authentic view of the pioneering mountaineering and research achievements in the Asian mountains in the present and half a century ago.
The virgin seven-thousand-foot peak Mucu Kish in Karakoram, Pakistan, was climbed in the summer of 2024 by three experienced climbers from the Krkonoše Mountains - Radoslav Groh, Zdeněk Hák and Jaroslav Bánský. The expedition is respectful and reverent to the legacy of the first Krkonoše mountaineering and scientific expedition Himalaya 1979. Its members, led by the legends of Czechoslovak alpinism Jan Červinka and Vladimír Krupička, also reached the virgin seven-thousandth peak of North Manaslu. The film will also present the current activities of socio-cultural anthropologist Libor Dušek in Pakistan and the contemporary research of geobotanist Jan Stursa in Nepal.
